Nextant Aerospace announced that it has received FAA certification for the world’s first completely remanufactured business jet,the Nextant 400XT is equipped with Williams FJ44-3AP engines and a Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 integrated avionics suite, and will cost about one-half the price of competing models with similar attributes.

The FAA certification completes the 400XT’s approval process, as the first retail delivery of the plane will occur sometime in October to Flight Options, a major fractional-jet company that ordered 40 of the new, remanufactured business jets. “In developing the Nextant 400XT, we sought to deliver the latest in business jet technology without passing on the cost of ‘clean sheet’ design to our customers,” said Kenneth C. Ricci, the CEO of Nextant Aerospace.

“We have created an entirely new category of business jets with more range, more speed, and greater cost-effectiveness; all at half the cost of comparable planes. The Nextant 400XT is truly ‘what’s next,’ a jet designed for tomorrow’s business needs, available today.”

The Cleveland, Ohio-based aviation firm also reported that along with its increased efficiency and cost-effectiveness, the aerodynamic enhancements for the remanufactured business jet include newly designed nacelles, pylons, and an improved engine-mounting configuration. More than 6,000 man-hours are invested in producing one 400XT business jet. The finished product is delivered as a new aircraft with an all-encompassing, tip-to-tail warranty and full support services.
